Star salaries coming down?
According to a Reuters article, salaries for some stars in Hollywood are going down, thanks to increasing production costs. I always thought $20 million a picture was a little much, and recently, salaries for some stars shot up to $25 million. Apparently, studios are balking at the asking price for Jim Carey, Nichole Kidman, Will Ferrell and Eddie Murphy. Who would’ve thought Eddie Murphy would ask $25 million per movie, but there you have it! What celebrities are doing now is to opt for profits out of the movie’s take, which is a healthier way to make the money. If the movie tanks, oh well, but if it makes it big, then they get what they deserve and more. Here’s the link.
