In 1946, Disney made an industrial short for General Motors called “ABC’s of Hand Tools”. While the whereabouts of that movie, which must have been entertaining, are unknown, the handbook is still with us. Cartoon Brew has the details in this post, along with a link to a PDF of that book. This is funny stuff, and still relevant!
➡ Updated 12/10/09: It’s YouTube to the rescue, thank goodness! Found the video, in two parts, and embedded them below. Enjoy!

I still show this to my middle school students. I filmed the 16mm with video about 20 years ago. Its getting old now so I need to make a cd copy soon. Looks like no one sells a dvd version. So here I am.

I teach prospective A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) students at Hampton University Aeroscience Center. I have been teaching a dozen years. I first saw this movie (16mm also) way back in the ’70’s soon after joining the navy. I would love to be able to get a copy of it. A little humor in the class always goes a long way to maintain interest and to energize the students.
