Ligia’s Kitchen: how to season cast-iron cookware

In this episode of her show, Ligia shows you how to season cast-iron cookware. We use it almost exclusively for cooking in our house. We also use some stainless steel and lead-free enamel cookware, but most of the cooked food we eat gets made in cast-iron pots and pans. The taste is better and once you get them seasoned properly, the clean-up is also easier than with other cookware, because the food doesn’t stick to them. And you’ll also get to strengthen your arms and shoulders: cast-iron dishes are heavy!

We upped our game for this episode of Ligia’s Kitchen and filmed it with five cameras. It was a bit nerve-wracking but the end result was worth it. Bon appetit!

In this episode, Ligia makes a quick and delicious dessert from raw vegan whipped cream and blackberries, sweetened with Green Sugar, an all-natural powdered sweetener made from stevia, with none of the stevia after-taste.

Here’s a greens salad made with a range of sprouts, wild garlic, kale leaves, green onion leaves and tomatoes from our garden. I call it different because the combination of the ingredients and the special dressing that Ligia makes for it give it this wonderful and different taste. You won’t know what I mean until you try it!

We all know we can make raw almond milk with a blender, but did you know that you can also make it with a cold-press juicer?

Here’s a delicious green juice you can make in winter from kale leaves, apples, ginger root and sunflower sprouts. Enjoy!

Here’s one of Ligia’s raw vegan dishes: freshly cut vegetable spaghetti with a raw vegan sauce, perfectly seasoned as usual. Bon appetit!

Here’s a raw vegan hummus recipe prepared by my lovely wife from sunflower seeds. I can assure you, as usual, that it’s delicious. She’s made it for us many times. Enjoy!
